This art form is born from the earth, with colors and designs of stones so unique and beautiful you won’t be able to take yours eyes off them. Each creation will excite both your senses and your imagination, as you make discoveries in the all-natural “one-of-a-kind” creations. This is “Mother Nature” at her finest.
The artwork consists of natural stone, both flagstone as the canvas, and beautiful Arizona marble and other stone as the designs. The canvas is selected and then the tedious process of the design begins. The marble is sliced in approximately ¼ inch slabs, and it is this slicing that eventually reveals the stone’s amazing colors and designs. Then, each unique piece of stone is carefully selected so the final piece of art is captured for its unmistakable uniqueness.
The artist, David Hodor, is Arizona born with many years of working with stone and marble. He began as a ceramic contractor and worked for many years creating beautiful designs for his customers. Eventually he began designing works of arts in the stepping-stones he created from ceramic and stone. As David moved toward working more with stone, he began creating numerous figures from the stone. It was then he realized the treasures he was unlocking each time he cut into the stone. This realization of the majestic and unique beauty of the inner stone was the beginning of David Hodor Creations.
